One of the most politically correct but at the same time absurdist statements ever came from former presidential candidate H.Ross Perot, who was commenting during the debate about the trade imbalance NAFTA would cause for USA.
That phrase is what immediately crossed my mind when I saw this “CO2 sucker” pop up on my Facebook Feed this morning:

Some simple data points suggest that this will never even appear as a blip in atmospheric CO2 content. For example, the volume of the atmosphere is about 4,200,000,000 cubic kilometers. Considering that they have a prototype factory of 15 machines promises to remove 4000 tons of CO2 per year and that in In 2020, 34.81 billion tons of CO2 will be emitted, and in 2021 it is on track to emit 36.4 billion tons, it will be a long time before they have any impact on CO2 levels.
Some simple math. 36,400,000,000 tons / 4000 tons over 15 CO2 plants = 9,100,000 15 units CO2 plants.
And that’s just the 2021 figure. More than 9 million of these 15 unit CO2 capture facilities will be needed, just to start reducing annual global CO2 emissions. It will never happen.
It reminds me of Scam “sun road”, and clearly illustrates a phrase closely associated with PT Barnum.
There is a bloodsucker that is born every minute, literally. Intended pun.
