Tesla Roadster Engineering ‘Mostly Complete’ Musk Says, Production Supposed to Begin Next Year

Oh, the second generation Tesla Roadster. It was first announced a long time ago. The image on the original post has been removed. It is believed that it will have missiles and be able to fly and also breaks the laws of physicsand to be honest, no one knows if it will even be anything like the concept. However, during Tesla’s Q2 earnings call, CEO Elon Musk said it will go into production sometime next year.

When asked about the Roadster, Musk said that most of the engineering was done, although there were a few upgrades they wanted to make. However, he still insisted that the new Roadster would be ready for production by 2025. So that’s it, right? Everyone who put down a $50,000 deposit in 2017 has been vindicated, and the legacy automakers are about to be destroyed. Eat shit, haters. The Roadster is really happening.

But then again, this is Tesla, and you can always assume Elon is lying whenever he gives a timeline for anything. In this particular case, I’d be willing to bet that we won’t even see a new Roadster launch in 2025, let alone actual deliveries.

If the engineering is only “mostly” perfect, the Roadster will either be a giant piece of junk that overshadows even the Cybertruck when it comes to quality issues, or it won’t happen at all next year. Every other automaker would be in deep testing mode right now, and if Tesla was, we’d be seeing more spy shots by now.

Take Porsche’s hybrid 911, for example. The German automaker claims that before it goes into production, The new 911 has undergone three million test miles.. And that’s just the new powertrain on a car that’s already in production. Automakers really want to make sure their new cars are good before they start producing them, and we’re supposed to believe that a mostly finished Tesla is coming out next year? I don’t believe that for a second, and if it is, you definitely shouldn’t buy it because it’s going to be a real piece of junk.

Like the Cybertruck, a new Roadster will probably come out in some form at some point. I can’t say when that will happen because I don’t know of any drug or technology that would allow me to see that far into the future. I don’t believe for a second that Tesla actually has anything truly new next year. Like the rest of the earnings call, Elon’s claim that the new Tesla Roadster will go into production next year is 1,000 percent bullshit.
