More details on Tesla recall
According to the Daily Mail, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration made the announcement on Tuesday, July 30. Additionally, the recall is said to be issued “over concerns about a software error that could result in the hood not being properly closed.”
The paper notes that if the hood is not latched open while a person is driving, it can obstruct their vision. Ultimately, this could lead to an accident.
Here are the models affected by the recall and what customers can do.
According to Newsweek, the recall applies to “some Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y vehicles manufactured in 2020-2024.”
Outlet reported that the company has issued an “over-the-air software update” to fix the latch issue, and that customers will be “sent notifications” if their vehicles are affected.

Last month, Tesla also issued another recall for “most” of its Cybertrucks, according to Newsweek. The vehicles reportedly had issues with “windshield wipers and exterior trim.”
Additionally, the newspaper reported that more than 11,000 vehicles are affected by this recall.
Additionally, in December 2023, Tesla issued a recall of more than two million vehicles, according to The Shade Room. At the time, it was reported that the vehicles were having issues with their “autopilot feature.” This ultimately increased the risk of a crash. According to Tesla, autopilot allows the driver to keep their hands close to the steering wheel while the car uses sensors to maintain or change lanes.
“In some cases where Autopilot is engaged and the driver is not responsible for the operation of the vehicle and is not prepared to intervene when necessary or does not recognize when Autopilot is disengaged or not engaged, the risk of a crash may increase,” a letter issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reads.
At the time, the recall followed the company’s investigation into previous crashes involving the feature.
