Tesla has the worst train show in the world

An embarrassed driver in the US has blamed Tesla’s Autopilot semi-autonomous driving system after his car came to a stop on railway tracks.

Tesla – seems like a Model Y – was found stuck on train tracks in California, prompting the Woodland Police Department to issue a public safety announcement on social media.

And before you scroll down to see if a train ran over and hit the Tesla, we’re happy to report that no such incident occurred and no one was injured — although the driver is under investigation.

Time will tell whether the self-driving system was to blame. If we had to guess, the driver lost track of where they were going, or maybe they were just distracted by a train of thought.

“We want to remind everyone of the importance of remaining vigilant when using Tesla’s Autopilot feature,” a statement on the Woodland Police Department’s Facebook page said.

“This morning there was an incident where the autopilot mistook the train tracks for a road, causing serious danger.

“Key points to remember:

  • Stay alert: Always keep your hands on the wheel and ready to take control.
  • Constant monitoring: Constantly check your surroundings, even when Autopilot mode is engaged.
  • Safety first: Autopilot is an assistance feature, not a replacement for careful driving.

“Your safety is our top priority! Drive safely and stay alert! For more information, Tesla’s official website provides comprehensive instructions and safety tips to ensure proper use of Autopilot features.

Drivers have blamed Tesla’s Autopilot system for all sorts of misdeeds around the world, ranging in severity from minor traffic violations to fatal crashes.

Just two weeks ago a Californian Tesla Model S Drivers using mobile phones while driving have claimed that they using the car’s semi-autonomous driving technology when it crashed into the police car involved in a fatal accident.
