TERF Award Fund for Belmont Child Care Association
Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) is pleased to award the Belmont, Inc. (BCCA) $10,000 to be used for educational purposes.
BCCA’s mission is to provide a safe, supportive and inspirational learning environment for the children of working parents in the Thoroughbred racetrack area located at historic Belmont Park, the Aqueduct Racecourse and the School. racing Saratoga.
BCCA received funds from TERF in 2019 and 2020, which were used for their early childhood education program.
In keeping with its mission to advance equine education by supporting organizations that are educating the public on how to properly care for horses, TERF will continue to provide their financial support in 2021. BCCA will use funding their early childhood education program that incorporates STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math-based curriculum) to prepare elementary students while having fun and physical, emotional, social and cognitive development.
TERF grants reflect the values set forth by founders Herb and Ellen Moelis. The current TERF Board of Directors, which includes Co-Chairs Kathleen Anderson DVM and James Orsini DVM, Margaret H. Duprey, Gretchen and Roy Jackson, Ellen and Herb Moelis, Wendy Moon, Anita Motion, Toni Orsini, Scott Palmer VMD, Josh Pons, Lucy Zungailia, Katelyn Jackson and Lynn Cassimeris, Ph.D.
