Tarsier Studios teases its next game after Little Nightmares II – Terminator
Time to test the vibes
Over the years, Tarsier Studios has become one of those unpredictable game makers that I always look forward to checking out. The Malmö, Sweden-based studio has been quiet since closing Little Nightmare II for Bandai Namco (may or may not continue the series in other placeswith all its success), but we are expecting new IPs.
This week on Twitter, Tarsier Studios shared a new intro video with the caption, “We’re busy.” Maybe, it’s a test of vibes for the next big game idea.

While I’m not exactly sure how to categorize blink clips and you’ll miss out, the visual concepts are dark and engaging in a very Tarsier way. I’m tagging this post with “Horror” and we’ll have to check back some day to see if that’s appropriate.
Besides Little Nightmarethe group also took us stretcher on Switch, Tearaway Unfolded on PS4 and Statik – one of my all time favorite PlayStation VR games.
Worth repeating: Bandai Namco owns the Little Nightmares IP, not Tarsier
Recently, Tarsier Studios posted a listing for a main game designer roleand a little more context about what’s in store and what their goals are. In the job listing, the “medium” studio says it’s currently “in the process of creating two new games. ”
“At this point, we’re not ready to say what the games are or what genre they’ll be in. HOWEVER what we can tell you is extremely high standards and promises that you will make world class games.
“We want to believe in the world we create. Our games must be authentic, fearless, imaginative and memorable; create a bond between the player and the game that leaves a lasting impression… or a permanent scar. We do that by combining the artistically enthralling worlds, stories and characters you relate to with the intended emotional amplification and the stories we want to tell. Worlds that you have never experienced but are interested in and affected by. “
Other job postings on the studio’s website there’s a reference to “a new franchise in the footsteps of an award-winning one Little Nightmare. ”
If you missed, Embracer Group (owned great number of) picked up Tarsier Studios in 2019. All in all, I hope Tarsier can continue to do his thing for many more years and it does. Bandai Namco can tap another studio for the ability to continue Little Nightmare series.
New articles from different creators can be a tricky prospect, but I’m not entirely against the idea if it fits. Whether it’s a brand new concept or a sort of spiritual sequel deal, I’m going to be doing more spooky adventures whenever I can, in a way.
