Lucien Bastida WINS TKO 8 Nahuel Gonzalo

Bastida stopped Gonzalo in the eighth round in the defense of the Argentine title. Bastida let his punches fly from the start. Taller southpaw Gonzalo is using his jab to push Bastida back and land heavy blows to the body.

Bastida launched a fierce attack early in the second half, scoring with a series of shots from both hands, but was cut over the left eye when their heads collided. Bastida was working better than Gonzalo, getting close to scoring with hooks and uppercuts and by the fifth minute, Gonzalo had a nasty bruise under his right eye.

Gonzalo regained consciousness late in the seventh and scored with deep hooks to the body but was now suffering from swelling around both eyes. In the eighth, blood began to flow down Bastida’s face from a cut above his left eye.

He suddenly landed a right uppercut and sent Gonzalo across the ring, connecting with lefts and rights until Gonzalo lay against the ropes with his arms down and his head thrown back by the Gonzalo’s punch, and the fight was stopped. This is Bastida’s first defense. Gonzalo has won his last two fights.

Federico Schinina beat PTS 10 Mohammed Graich

Local boxer Schinina won the vacant Italian title with a points victory over Graich in an entertaining bout. Schinina had the advantage in skill and speed and passed the aggressive Graich to take an early lead. Graich just kept coming, constantly pressing and even with his smart defensive play, Schinina frequently found himself pinned against the ropes and Graich seemed to have closed the points gap.

Schinina then took the lead in the ninth and tenth rounds and won well 96-94 twice and 97-93. Argentinian-born Schinina lost his national super lightweight championship bout last August but moved up to super welterweight and has recorded two wins. Emeka Nwokolo W PTS 12 Jeovanis Barraza

Nigerian Nwokolo overcame Colombian Barraza and won two titles. Nwokolo boxed deftly against the taller Colombian. He scored well with counter-attacks and when Barraza tried to get in on the back foot, Nwokolo was quick enough to score and escape before Barraza could react. Nwokolo was fast-paced and outlasted Barraza round after round to win comfortably by scores of 120-108 twice and 118-110.

Nwokolo participated in many battles in Colombia and Mexico. He won the vacant NABA and Global Boxing Organization titles. Barraza was 20-0 against very modest opposition, but the move up to face much higher quality has left him with less impressive numbers at 3-4.

Oluwafemi Oyeleye beat Leonardo Di Stefano by TKO 4

Oyeleye, a Nigerian-born southpaw, knocked out Di Stefano in round 4. Oyeleye boxed in the retreat, using his longer reach to accumulate points. Di Stefano continuously moved forward, stabbing people but without success.

As Di Stefano advanced again in the fourth round, a short left hook staggered him, then he went down on his hands and knees and continued to punish him on the canvas, and the referee immediately stopped the fight. The tenth win by KO/TKO for Oyeleye.

Sultan Zaurbek WIN TKO 1 Roman Ruben Reynoso

Kazakhstan southpaw Zaurbek perfected Reynoso with three knockouts in 101 seconds. Reynoso came out, kept his head down, threw ferocious punches and as Zaurbek stepped aside, Reynoso threw himself off of him and landed on the canvas.

He got up and took ridiculously rough shots again. Zaurbek lands a left to the body. Reynoso knelt on the canvas and watched the count, then spit out his mouth guard to buy a few more seconds. When the action restarted, a left to the body sent Reynoso to his knees on the canvas again.

While the count was going on, Zaurbek climbed the ropes in a corner to celebrate, but Reynoso beat the count. Another right to the body sent him down and the referee waved the fight off. It was a farce and it was ridiculous that Zaurbek would win the vacant WBA Continental title in a fight like this. Thirteen KO/TKO wins for Zaurbek, who deserved better.

Geografo and Alfieri ended up fighting for the vacant European Silver title. In the opening rounds, Alfieri’s continued aggression caused Geografo to fight on the back foot. He’s boxing well, but Alfieri is shifting his attack from the head to the body and has a good lead after five rounds. Geografo gradually worked his way into the fight in the middle rounds and then used his better skills to beat the fading Alfieri and the judges couldn’t split them with all three cards reading 114-114, so They will have to start over from scratch.
