Stray Trouble Becomes Essex Fire Service’s Top Dog
A labrador once described as “unruly and untrainable” by a shelter, which begged someone to bring it, has become a top sought-after dog.
Bailey was given an opportunity by the Essex Fire Service, whose coaches were impressed with how quickly he picked up new skills.
He will now join a team of just eight British dogs sent to search for survivors in disaster zones around the world.
Handler Graham Currie said: “He’s the most natural-born foraging dog we’ve ever met. Now he just loves life and he’s going to be one of our top dogs, hopefully,” .
