Staffy has a meltdown when called pretty
Many pet parents talk to their dogs as if they would understand. Although our puppies may not continue the conversation, there are many moments when they seem to acknowledge what we are saying.
Sarah Lawther from Sydney, Australia, had such a moment with her adorable Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Honey. She often talked to Honey as if she were a human being, but she didn’t expect an answer. Once, when she told Honey she was beautiful in a TikTok video, the sweet pup responded warmly, showing that she understood the meaning.
Staffy is one of those humans
Lawther brought Honey home when she was just a puppy, and the two formed an immediate bond. She says she and her partner were obsessed with the dog as soon as they met her. They’ve always treated Honey like a human, so now that she’s fully grown, Honey reacts and responds to some of the things her human says.
Lawther said: “It seemed like she was saying it back, which was crazy.
It didn’t take long for Honey to have a social media presence of her own because of how adorable she is. The puppy has a lot of popular posts on Instagram and TikTok, but one particular video went viral. The video shows Honey’s heartwarming reaction when her mother calls her beautiful.
Honey’s heartwarming reaction
In the TikTok video, the camera focuses on Honey’s adorable puppy face. Her mother said, “You are the most beautiful girl in the whole world.” When Honey heard that, she jumped up and let out the cutest little moan. Some followers noted that her moans sounded like she was saying “aw!”
After Honey groaned, her mother said, “Yes, son. You are, my baby. You’re perfect.” As a result, Honey groaned again. Lawther ended the video by asking Honey, “Do you agree?” Although Honey didn’t say anything verbally, her tail wagged. shows that she knows how beautiful she is and that she loves being reminded of it by her mother.

Lawther said she’s been complimenting Honey’s beauty since she was a puppy. She doesn’t expect Honey’s video to get more than 100,000 views, but she’s grateful that Honey’s sweet face is bringing joy to others.
Most importantly, Lawther is happy that Honey’s popularity is helping to end stereotypes about the breed. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is one of the breeds often labeled “Pit Bull”, which is a group of dogs believed to be aggressive. However, it’s clear that Honey has no bones in her body, so hopefully her sweet video will remind people to stop judging dogs based on their looks.
