Spy photos of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2024 reveal the next-generation sedan
What appears to be the year 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan was spotted testing in Europe this week under some pretty substantial camouflage. While it can be difficult to determine where the body stops and camouflage begins, one thing is for sure: Mercedes proved determined to keep its place in the mid-range segment luxury sedan market.
NS E-Class sedans don’t seem like the tight-end end of vehicles, but with the proliferation of hatchbacks and premium SUVs, it’s hard to take the continued existence of a sedan for granted. In fact, reports have suggested that two-door version of the platform is being merged with the smaller C-Class, continuing the fine tradition of Mercedes-Benz the models have names that do not hint at their size.
What we do know is that this will likely be the last E-Class to be offered with an internal combustion engine. The company plans to introduce three new full EV platforms by 2025: MB.EA for midsize and larger passenger cars, AMG.EA for performance vehicles and VAN.EA for electric vehicles and light trucks commercial vehicle, which means the next-generation E-Class will break in right down the line.
Not to be confused with the upcoming electric EQE (which is also midsize), our spies tell us the new E-Class will arrive just in time for the 2024 model year. The 2023-2024 introduction will set it up. it to be decommissioned around 2030 – just in time to meet the aggressive goals of several world governments for full electrification.
