Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – Battle Training mode reveals gameplay

Sparking Zero will feature a combat system that continues the one-on-one 3D combat formula pioneered by its predecessors. This formula allows fans to enjoy total freedom of movement in three-dimensional space and feel truly immersed in the world of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero and its characters.

Whether you’ve been a loyal fan for years or you’re just starting your journey, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is designed for you. It’s been over a decade since the last installment and we’re excited to give PS5 players their first look at Battle Training mode, a feature that will prepare you for the ultimate Dragon Ball combat experience.

Training mode

For players new to the franchise or veterans in need of a refresher, there is a robust training mode between the classic Master and Apprentice Piccolo and Gohan, with Goten also making a cameo appearance. While the training mode covers basic in-game commands, it also delves into intermediate and advanced techniques for players to explore and alerts players if they successfully perform the actions outlined in the tutorial they are given.

Start with the basics

Battle Training mode allows players to choose the level they want to start at. Players can start at the beginner level, learning how to fly, use Ki Blast, and counterattack.

You can also learn to use special commands, such as character change and transform.

Meet in the middle with intermediate to advanced techniques

Those who want to improve their game beyond the game and progress to higher level gameplay can enjoy learning how to perform intermediate and advanced techniques, such as Rush Chains, Vanishing Assaults, Advanced Counters, etc.

Players can move 360 degrees but can also charge and use their ki to use Dragon Dash to move quickly across the battlefield. Players can use Dragon Dash to perform follow-up attacks after defeating their opponents.

Additionally, new gameplay reveals how players can access Vanishing Assaults to quickly gain the upper hand against unsuspecting opponents. This mode also reveals how players can follow up these attacks with additional movements and attacks to form combos.

Access and avoid opponents

Caught up in your opponent’s attacks? Battle Training mode also goes into depth on how to counter barrage attacks using Perception and Meta-Perception.

Players can also dodge the opponent’s next attack by using the Z counter. Change the course of battle by using these defensive moves to your advantage.

Maximize all moves

Finally, true to the legacy of Sparking Zero, this mode also includes a way for players to charge their Ki and enter Sparking Mode, unlocking powerful abilities for each character (*Requires at least 1 Skill Count to enter the mode).

Once training is complete, this mode will help players combine what they have learned and teach them how to combine attacks, Vanishing Assaults mode and Sparking mode to unleash a devastating combo on opponents.
