Dendro Archon and the Man-made God
After experiencing the life and death of the Sabzeruz Festival and surviving the journey through the desert, we will finally reach the end of the Sumeru Archon Quest. Picked up right where we stopped, Nahida was held captive in Surasthana Sanctuary by The Doctor. When Dendro Archon, Akademiya and Grand Sage, the two Fatui Harbingers, the desert dwellers, and all the other important players enter the scene, the final chapter pushes the story to a climax.
Although Traveler will receive support from many allies, including insiders like Cyno, General Mahamatra and Alhaitham, the road to saving Nahida and Sumeru will be fraught with difficulty, as will the epic fight against The Balladeer . Unlike The Balladeer we’ve met before, the third Fatui Harbinger boss we’re going to fight takes the form of a giant mechanical puppet created by Akademiya and The Doctor. To defeat this boss, you will have to survive two combat phases. In the early stages, The Balladeer’s upper body will appear with massive mechanical arms, along with several types of elemental powers and abilities, including attacks that create giant Hydro tornadoes , sparks and fire or freeze fields.
But you won’t fight alone. A floating device will accompany you throughout the fight and help turn the tide in the second phase. After The Balladeer transforms into this giant form, your normal attacks will no longer deal damage. The small floating helper will be the only one capable of breaking through his defenses and attacking the boss’s weak point.
The end of Archon Quest does not mean the end of our journey in Sumeru. Whether it is mysteries from the past or changes in the future, there is still a lot to be discovered.
More allies from Sumeru
After accompanying the Traveler on their long journey, Nahida is finally ready to join the cast as a playable five-star Dendro catalyst user. Meanwhile, Layla, an Akademiya student with unusual abilities, will join as a four-star Cryo sword user.
Since his birth, Lord Kusanali, also known as Nahida, has yet to set foot in the outside world. All the knowledge she possessed were like pieces of a puzzle she had never seen with her own eyes. But now, we get a chance to show her around and even spend more time with young Archon in her Story Quest after completing the Sumeru Archon Quest.
In combat, Nahida can use a unique scope skill by holding onto her Elemental Skill, dealing AoE Dendro damage as she marks and binds opponents to Skandha’s Seed. When a marked opponent takes damage from a Dendro Core or has Elemental Reaction activated on herself, Nahida unleashes a powerful Tri-Karma Purification that deals Dendro damage. Another great use for her Elemental Skills is collecting items that can be harvested directly from afar. With her Elemental Burst, Nahida will manifest the Magic Court of Dreams and expand the Maya Temple. In Shrine of Maya, a Pyro member will increase the DMG of Tri-Karma Purification, an Electro member will shorten the time between each Tri-Karma Purification, and a Hydro member will increase the duration of the field.
The second new playable character is Layla, an astrology student with the ability to sleepwalk. Looking tired and anxious all the time, Layla is severely sleep deprived due to her constant struggle with schoolwork and lack of confidence. However, her talent for sleepwalking allows her to reveal her true personality, regain her confidence, and complete all the unfinished paperwork.
Layla’s ability to sleepwalk also defines her fighting style. When she used her Elemental Skill, Layla appeared to be sleeping in a moon shield. Shielded Characters can not only gain protection, but can also accumulate Night Stars whenever they use their Elemental Skills. After accumulating four Night Stars, they will transform into Flying Stars. With her Elemental Burst, Layla will unleash a Celestial Dreamsphere that continuously fires Starlight Slugs at opponents within its AoE range while also generating Night Stars for Layla’s shield.
