Dan Skelton is quickly becoming one of the best coaches in England and is currently on the radar of Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson. He has some very interesting horses to go to war this season.
Skelton proved what a good coach he is at the weekend when West Cork, who had run in the Greatwood Hurdle after a lengthy absence, flew up Cheltenham Hill for the win.
Nube Negra also performed extremely well and definitely has a big chance in the Championship Race next March. The third time Lucki is also impressive while the unlucky loser My Drogo has not given up hope.
After reading Dan Skelton’s Stable Tour, which can be found on Car racing site for members, there’s a horse in particular that he sounds incredibly excited about.
Nurse Susan
Team Skelton has a very interesting horse on their hand with the shape Nurse Susan, who caught up with Carlisle at launch this month. Here’s what Dan had to say about her below.
‘She was a bit special in her debut at Carlisle last week. She did a really good job and I hope she does something like that but you can never really believe it until you see it. She could come to Cheltenham for the National Hunt novice hurdles to give her experience of the place because we’ll have to think about the novice hurdles of the mares at the festival. She has ties to some of the good winners in Ireland and I like her very much. ‘
It was amazing to see Nurse Susan as tall as 25-1 for the hurdles of the novice mares at the festival in March. That could be a lot shorter during the day.
