Artur Betterbiev has earned a reputation as one of the biggest and most violent boxers in the world. The current unified light heavyweight champion stopped every one of his brave opponents to set a perfect record across 17 bouts.

Most recently, Betterbiev completed another successful year. The Russian-born tennis player scored a knockout victory in the tenth round over competitor Adam Deines. Later that year, Beterbiev scored a ninth inning victory over Marcus Browne.

Despite blood pouring down Beterbiev’s face from an unintentional headbutt, the unified champion brought Browne to his knees. Immediately after the win, Beterbiev revealed that if newly crowned undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez was willing to put on weight, Beterbiev would be ready to give him a chance at world championship.

However, while Beterbiev is widely seen as one of Alvarez’s toughest opponents, former two-time welterweight champion Shawn Porter sees their possible future confrontation as a romp. in the park for weight stars.

Porter said on The Porter Way Podcast Clips: “I think it was a relatively easy game, I really think Canelo’s experience will allow him to do what he has to do against the back foot. I don’t think Canelo is the type to just walk into the ring with ‘this is me and this is what I do and I’ll beat you.’ I think his experiences will allow him to accept the fact that I have to fight my hind legs a little longer. This guy is a bit older than me. He has a lot of power but I can get him involved in some things and I can beat any time anywhere.”

Before a hypothetical match between Alvarez and Beterbiev can materialize, the Mexican product will first attempt to gain more history. With Alvarez becoming the first undisputed world champion in super-middle class history, he is now aiming for the cruiser class.

Eddy Reynoso, who both coaches and manages Alvarez, was recently given the green light by WBC, allowing Alvarez to put on some weight to take on WBC champion winners Ilunga Makabu and Thabiso Mchunu, who will face off next month. January. Day 29. If Alvarez beats the winner, he will become the first boxer of Mexican origin to win the world championship in five separate weight classes.
