“I feel like we’re the ones fighting at the end of the day,” Shakur Stevenson announced on a social media live stream. Apparently agitated by the fact that he received no high-profile opposition, the 19-0 boxer named some of the bigger names out there, such as Isaac Cruz and William Zepeda. Stevenson said: “Sugar Ray Leonard and all of them are 25, 24 years old. “If I’m willing to make these wars happen and these guys aren’t, you can call them ducks.” Stevenson then distinguishes himself from those he criticizes. “I’m not hiding from the smoke,” he said. “I’m not saying no to not fighting.”
25 years has taken a moment to focus on Cruz. “Show me you’re a murderer,” he said, alluding to Cruz’s ferocious reputation. “I want to see what kind of killer you are, ‘Pitbull’.” William Zepeda couldn’t escape Stevenson’s wrath either. Stevenson said: “Zepeda, he’s slow as an asshole. “I don’t know why they think he’s the killer.” During nearly half an hour of the live stream, Stevenson mentioned how serious he is about the sport, how much time he spends in the gym, and studies the history of science. sweet.
“They won’t like this version of me,” Stevenson said of his competitiveness when it comes to watching or hearing about the stream. He then goes on to give advice to boxers new to the game. “Young warriors, don’t believe everything that’s going on on social media,” he said. “Don’t let other boxers influence you… stay in the gym, get ready, stay fit all year round. You must always be in shape. Stevenson points out the kind of behavior that young boxers should avoid. “A lot of these guys are starting to make money and you just see them in the gym whenever the game day is coming up,” he said.
He advises: “Make boxing your life. “If you believe in yourself and believe in your talent, this terrible thing can change your life forever. All you have to do is apply yourself. Stevenson later pointed out that what young boxers see famous boxers doing on Instagram should be considered salt in the water. “This damn thing is not real life,” he said. Stevenson has won world titles in two weight classes and will now move on to lightweight, one of the hottest weight classes in contemporary boxing.
