Sebastian Fundura 20-0-1 takes on Brian Mendoza 21-2 in a super heavyweight bout scheduled for the 12th as the Showtime PBC card main event broadcast live via Showtime from Carson, California on Saturday. The towering Fundora used her height to her advantage in the first attempt. For his part, Mendoza fought patiently in the second round, choosing to try to lunge at the taller man rather than simply dashing forward. Fondura fused his punches together a bit in the third round, although Mendoza can sometimes push inwards. Fundora picked his man from distance in the fourth inning.
In the fifth round, Mendoza decided to try to attack Fundora directly, leading to mixed results. The sixth round seems like a rather sluggish situation. Needless to say, it didn’t help anyone the seventh time. Because, a left hook rocked Fundora early in the round. Completely stunned, Fundura dropped his hand. Mendoza moved in to destroy. A perfect left and right mix sent Fundura out. Completely unconscious, the boxer lay on the floor without even trying to get up. Mendoza later said, “You’ll never see me give up. “Here’s proof, keep doing what you’ll do, baby.”
