Sea Level Alarm – Rising with that?

Reading the headlines tonight (February 15), the NYT, NPR and CNN issued climate warnings again. This time it’s catastrophic sea level rise in 2050.

NYT: “Study claims coastal sea levels in the US will rise by one foot by 2050”

CNN: “Sea levels in the US will rise rapidly in the next 30 years, new report shows”

NPR: “Sea level rise from 6-18 inches [depending where] in the next 30 years”

I wonder how this is possible, as dGPS land vertical movement calibrated record long tide gauges showing 2.2mm/year with NO acceleration. And since then, just like before posted2.2mm/year closes with the total amount of ice in Greenland plus the loss of Antarctic ice plus the increase in ARGO temperatures.

Unfortunately, even NASA satellite altimeter SLRs are really bad (not fit for purpose according to three previous posts on Jason 3 and Sentinel-6) indicates about 3.2-3.4mm/year, less than 4 inches over the next 3 decades. NOT legs!

Massive media alarm stemmed from the new US interagency ‘Sea Level Rise Technical Report 2022’ led by NOAA. It is available at oceanservices.noaa.gov. Key Lesson #1 (in bold): Increase as much in the next 30 years as in the last 100!!!

That explains the exploding media headlines. Hardly an accident. Intentional alarm.

How in the world can US government agencies come to such conclusions while ignoring their own data? NOAA runs a tide gauge. NASA runs satalt.

Turns out that was NOT their conclusion. It was an echo. The 2022 report opens with:

“Confidence is higher than in the last 2017 report because of advances in sea level science since 2017 AS BOOKED IN IPCC AR6.” There are no advances in the science of observing sea levels. So it’s not ‘scientific’ at all. Its ‘new and improved’ IPCC AR6 models.

“Models of future sea level rise are very well matched over the next 30 years.” So what? Those AR6 models do not resemble the interdisciplinary observational reality of the United States. Something this new US interdisciplinary is not about.

Read it and cry.

US government climate alarmists are indeed looking for the bottom of the IPCC barrel, and indeed deserve more ridicule than this post can gather.
