Saturday Night Football Draft Picks: NFL DFS Squad Tips for the Colts-Cardinals Showdown Week 16

Both the Cardinals and Colts have their eyes on the ball after the season, but only one has the look of a playoff team of this caliber at the moment. The Cardinals have dropped two games in a row, including a 30-12 loss at the hands of the Lions last week. The Colts, on the other hand, have been relatively dominant, claiming two wins on the spin and five of their past six games. DraftKings Sportsbook is listing the Cardinals as one-point favorites with a total of 48.5 – inaccurate numbers that tip us one way or another from our DraftKings Showdown lineup picks, but still there’s a “Captain” who’s clearly as chalky as any of our DFS picks throughout the season.

Here are the important settings for DraftKings single game competitions: That is Full point PPR, and have three-point bonus for 300 yards of passing, 100 yards rush, and 100 yards receive. The captain costs 1.5 times the player’s original price, but he also gets his total score multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings: Colts vs Cardinals Slideshow Selection

Budget $50,000, need at least one player from each team.

Captain (1.5 times salary, 1.5 points): RB Jonathan Taylor, Colts ($18,000)

There really isn’t much to say here. Taylor has more than 30 DraftKing attempts (four) when she finishes under 20. He would be an obvious choice for the “Captain” position on this ranking. The only thing a frog DFS player might want to consider is going against Kyler Murray on this point, but that’s only for those who want to be cute.

MORE DFS SATURDAY NIGHT: FanDuel lineup

FLEX: QB Kyler Murray, Cardinals ($11,400)

Murray remains a compelling DFS game despite the Cardinals’ recent difficulties. He’s got three games at 30 plus DK and is a viable option for one’s captaincy as an opposing playmaker. He will need to do a better job of handling post-DeAndre Hopkins life, but this week will look better than last Sunday.

WEEK 16 USE DFS: DraftKings | FanDuel | Yahoo!

FLEX: WR Christian Kirk, Cardinals ($9,000)

Kirk is the “next man” after Hopkins’ (regular) season-ending knee injury. He turned 12 goals into a 9-94-1 line and 24.4 pts. Kirk has proven his ability to make big plays and produce solid performances, and he’ll continue to see a bigger piece of the game pie as it goes by.

WEEK 16 STANDARD RATINGS:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker

FLEX: WR Michael Pittman Jr., Colts ($7,200)

Sometimes we like to go into qualitative analysis and rely on some assumptions. In this case, we’ll assume that Pittman completed the business in the real world and in the building this week. After all, getting knocked out in a big game, as Pittman did last Saturday, is the kind of “disappointing” mistake that will get players fired. He should be able to do a helluva a lot better than the 1.7 DK he managed before his early exit.

WEEK 16 PPR RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker

FLEX: RB Chaes Edmonds, Cardinals ($3,000)

Edmonds got back into action last Sunday playing 29 snaps. The Cardinals are helping him rest after he missed a lot of time with an ankle sprain, but he will see his workload increase in the coming weeks. With Hopkins out of the picture, there’s a chance that Edmonds production could begin in order shortly.

MORE WEEK 16 DFS: Best value | Squad Builder

FLEX: WR Antoine Wesley, Cardinal ($1,000)

Wesley recorded a season high in a snap (64) and goal (eight) last week and is just another Cardinal who is expected to continue his game with increased chances. What we really like about this is the Wesley pricing, which allows us to include a few high-priced options in our lineup.
