Sarah Jessica Parker Wore This Surprising Summer Denim Trend

When I think of summer denim, my mind immediately goes to cut; whether it is a Daisy or a Bermuda flower, short jeans are an obvious way to bring classic materials into the warmer months. However, if we’re being honest, they’re not Mine favorite. But this summer, instead of ditching denim altogether (my typical stance), I found myself completely embracing a surprisingly diverse range of styles that celebrities are still wearing.

Jennifer Garner rekindled my denim skirt obsession when she wore a midi-length skirt to the airport and Sarah Jessica Parker just confirmed that it’s also going to be my go-to outfit this fall when she paired a corset-inspired dress with a tight cardigan at the Paris Olympics. Between their casual style and Kylie Jenner’s with the mini dress, i believe i would choose a denim dress – easy to wear for any occasion – over a pair of blue jeans.

Here are some denim styles that are popular with celebrities and fashion editors, starting at $44.

Petal & Pup Callum Sleeveless Denim Maxi Dress

Nordstrom

This long denim skirt from Petal & Pup features a dark, fitted bodice and flared skirt, making it the perfect accompaniment to both Garner and Parker’s dresses. It also features pleats, which add volume to the skirt, as well as contrast stitching that almost looks like herringbone. The two details really elevate the all-denim look, making it ideal for wearing out—but as Garner proves, all it takes to make this look more everyday is a pair of sneakers.

Gap Shift Denim Mini Dress

Distance

Gap Plaid Denim Skirt is destined to become your most worn style. The boxy fit and 100% cotton construction give this dress all-day comfort, but despite its loose fit, it never looks sloppy, thanks to the dark wash and flattering collar. I love that this dress goes with just about anything: Add sneakers and it’ll be your go-to Sunday afternoon look, while cute ballet flats are perfect for the office. And come September, all you need is a pair of knee-high boots to turn this dress into a fall staple.

Anthropologie Tommie Front Zip Long Sleeve Shirt Dress

Anthropology

This midi dress is from Anthropologie This might be my favorite trending style. While you’ll find plenty of A-line denim skirts and shift dresses to shop, this one is pretty unique, with its half-sleeved sleeves, ruffled waist, and yellow zipper running down the length of the skirt. But it’s not just those details that made me buy this dress; according to shoppers, it’s also “incredibly comfortable” and “super flattering,” with many commenting that it’s as flattering as it looks.

Denim Tropez dress reform

Refuse

Although it’s a bit extravagant, Tropez dress from Reformation is, in my opinion, a must have. I mean, have denim. when How chic is this? The dress, which comes in both summer white and deep indigo, features a button-down front and four pockets, all finished with large gold buttons that give this style an extremely expensive look. I’ll be wearing it with Mary Jane heels for the rest of the summer and transitioning it into fall by adding a button-down shirt underneath.

Denim skirts are the unexpected trend that celebrities have me obsessed with this season, and I plan on wearing them well into next season. Shop more styles below.
