Russell stops Postol after 10

Former junior junior champion Viktor Postol, 31-3-0, appeared on the Showtime card Saturday as he faced undefeated Gary Russell 14-0 in a scheduled 10-round middleweight bout. submit. This war has a tragic element, as Postol’s wife and twin sons are currently caught in the war ravaging Ukraine.
Russell had an aggressive and productive first game, although Postol was able to counter-attack well. Russell remained aggressive in the second, although Postol seemed to be finding his range. Postol proved difficult for Russell to land cleanly in the third inning. Every man was able to land cleanly in the fourth, though Russell seems to have passed it. Clearly in the fifth inning, Postol was a tough opponent for Russell, although Russell was able to hit some clean shots.
The sixth inning was a close, violent chess match. Russell had straight, sharp headers in the seventh section. Postol used his stab effectively for eight minutes, but was too slow to avoid Russell’s blows to the head, which were starting to accumulate. Russell continued to find a home for his headshots on Friday. By the tenth and final inning, Russell was able to unload his man. The referee stepped in and stopped the game.
