Rugged Rugs: We Tested the Brand’s Latest Launch
We Tried Magnetic Machine Washable Rugs Sure, making the messy scrubbing and expensive professional carpet cleaners a thing of the past. While we were infatuated late with Keith Haring CollectionThe company has gone and launched another great collection perfect for this time of year.
It’s a line of fluffy carpet it’s perfect for burying your head on those cold winter mornings – and like the rest of the company’s products, they’re all machine washable. I tested one of the shakers myself before putting it in the wash to do another spin (the cycle).
In case you lose it, Sure is a two-piece mat system consisting of a non-slip pad and a mat that attaches to the base. The rug is made from 95% recycled polyester and has a hard bottom so it doesn’t slide around; It is also available in classic and cushioned versions. Meanwhile, the top has a Velcro-like material to keep the rug in place on top of the rug.
When it does spill, you can remove the lid and wash it and it’ll look as good as new – perfect for those who live with kids or pets. Plus, if you live alone (or don’t!) and struggle with a large, heavy rug, this is a whole new world of ease. (It also makes it easier for you to update your decor.)
Hitherto, the rugs we tried from the company are designed to be flat and lightweight, or lighter luxurythis makes them easy to clean – but because of the low pile, they don’t quite give you that decadent-your-sincere-a pile of fluff feeling.
That is, until the launch of the shag rug.
I unboxed a 3 foot x 5 foot gray version and placed it on the bathroom floor in front of the vanity. Just like the original versions, our Ruggable is rolled up in a large box, with the rug as the outer layer and the padding (cushion) tucked inside. All I needed to do was take it out of the box (these mats are really light), separate the two pieces, then lay them on the floor.
Lining the top cover on top of the bottom pad requires patience and care, especially when aligning the edges so that one does not overlap (or overlap) the other. I rolled the mattress and then walked over it a bit to flatten it before rolling the rug small enough that we could just shake it off like a bed sheet and put it on the mattress, then flatten it by hand. (If you need some pictures, Ruggable has one video tutorials to help you put your rug in the perfect spot.)
My first impressions: ruffled feathers To be super luxurious and cuddly. It feels incredibly luxurious when you step from a cozy bed to a plush furry with a beautiful spring mattress underneath.
But like most things in the house, this rug is bound to get dirty between hair products, occasional makeup spills and wet feet, at least in my house, which is why. why am i curious to know how washable the USP is with a taller, plusher pile.
The washing process is literally the same as the original rug: All you have to do is separate the cover from the mattress, toss it in the washing machine with a mild, non-bleach detergent, and rinse in cold water. It can also go right into the dryer – just dry on low.
The brand promises that we will see little change in texture after more than 10 washes and that flaking will be minimal. I am happy to report that after several (not 10) washes, everything is going well. The lid fits easily into our washing machine – although larger sizes may fit smaller washers – and fundamental stuck on the edge got out right. The plush part was faded when the cover got wet, but after spinning it with no heat through the dryer, it softened immediately.
Also great: The fluff doesn’t shed at all (no fluff was detected on the socks), but unlike a flat rug, vacuuming like this is a futile exercise. Don’t even try: Threads too long will wind up in the vacuum and it’s a mess no one wants.
Bottom line: It’s easy to maintain luxury at your feet
This Washable fluffy rug is a game changer for anyone who wants a classy look at a reasonable price and easy to use. I like my vanity rug to keep my feet warm on cold mornings and I can see a dreamy plus size rug in a kid’s room to create a play space soothing or to add a chic vibe to an adult’s bedroom.
