The all-new 2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan is now available in Malaysia, priced from RM30,600 to RM32,200. Available in three variants and five colour options, every Royal Enfield Himalayan sold in Malaysia comes with a three-year manufacturing warranty and roadside assistance, as well as three free motorcycle services.

The Himalayan Base comes in Kaza Brown and is priced at RM30,600 while the two colour options for the Pass variant are Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue at RM31,100. The Summit comes in Hanle Black at RM31,500 for the spoked rim variant while Kamel White with tubeless rims is priced at RM32,200.

Powering the new Himalayan is Royal Enfield’s 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Sherpa 450 engine, fed by EFI via a 42mm throttle body with ride-by-wire throttle. Coupled with DOHC and four valves, the Himalayan produces 40bhp at 8,000rpm with a peak torque of 40Nm at 5,500rpm.

Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and has been designed with a lighter clutch lever for easier handling. Wired wheels are standard across the Himalayan range except the Summit Kamel White, which gets a 21-inch wheel up front and a 17-inch wheel at the rear with 90/90-21 and 140/80-17 tyres.

Suspension uses 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear with 200mm of suspension travel at both ends. Braking is done by single hydraulic discs at the front and rear, the front gets a 320mm disc and dual-piston caliper while the rear gets a 270mm disc and single-piston caliper while dual-channel ABS, switchable for off-road use, is standard.

The Himalayan’s seat is a split seat with a set height of 825 mm, adjustable to 845 mm, while the optional low seat has a set height of 805 mm, adjustable to 825 mm. The seat is narrower between the legs, allowing for better control when standing and easier foot placement when seated.

The redesigned fuel tank, which is narrower than the previous Himalayan, holds 17 litres of fuel and weighs 191 kg wet. The instrument panel is a 4-inch LCD screen and has the ability to connect to the rider’s smartphone along with full navigation using Google Maps, as well as music and call management via a new joystick controller on the handlebars.
