Round: Reviews for Sports Stories on Switch
COG connected gave Sports Story a 60 out of 100 – referring to how poorly it compares to its predecessor:
“Sports Story pales in comparison to its predecessor. The plot fails to capture the bizarreness that pervades the original. While I understand Sidebar Games’ decision to delve into its story, in doing so I do. , it removed the simplicity that made Golf Story so unforgettable.Although it expanded its gameplay with a number of new sports activities, the success of these activities varied. with the large number of performance issues and bugs meant that this swing was just a hit, not a hit.”
The SwitchUp YouTube channel a bit more forgiving, acknowledging how the issues will likely be patched, leading to a better game in the future:
“It’s still an imperfect gem…definitely there is a gem here, it’s a bit random, sometimes it’s a bit everywhere, but I can see what they’re trying to do and I I think people playing this game a year from now, it could be a blast… I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do.”
And the Italian game site Multiplayer.it seems to like it a lot more than other reviewers – giving it an eight out of ten, even if there are “faults”. Here is the rough translation via Google:
“Sports Story continues in the footsteps of Golf Story, maintaining the same main character and different elements of the critically acclaimed cast of the first work The Sidebar Game, improving on many elements. element in its formula.”
Note: If we see any more reviews increase in the new year, we’ll add them to the aggregator above.
