A modern assassination plot that doesn’t stop this year Republican National Convention (RNC). The political rally begins today (July 15) in Milwaukee, Minnesota. The event comes just days after a man shot Donald Trump at a protest in Pennsylvania.

What is RNC and how to watch it?
The RNC is when Republican delegates from each state come together to nominate someone for president. Over four days, there will be banquets, brunches, events, and more than 100 speakers.
CBS News reports that the first session of the RNC is scheduled to begin at 1:45 p.m. ET. Additionally, local CBS stations will carry live coverage of the keynote speakers each night. As previously reported, Amber Rose is one of a handful of surprise picks to take the stage at the RNC this week. Former Trump critic Nikki Haley will also speak on behalf of her former rival.

Two notable Trump family members not on the RNC agenda include Ivanka Trump and Melania Trump. The former first lady shared a message following her husband’s assassination, but she is not scheduled to campaign on his behalf this week.
Donald Trump secures GOP nomination and picks Vice President
Trump is also expected to accept his nomination for the ticket at the RNC. The GOP nominated Trump at the start of the Republican National Convention on Monday, according to the Associated Press.
He is believed to have received the majority of votes needed to secure the nomination, including in his home state of Florida. This is the third consecutive election that Donald will represent the Republican Party in the race for the White House.
Additionally, on Monday, Trump announced his vice presidential pick, Senator JD Vance from Ohio. According to AP, he is the first millennial to run for a major party.
“After careful consideration and thought, as well as considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the best person to serve as Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
