Rivian Unveils Five Vehicles in Investor Presentation

Rivian hinted at five new electric vehicles in the works during an investor presentation held on June 26 to outline Volkswagen Group’s investment plans in up to 5 billion USD establish technology joint ventures.

The first slide was published by Bloomberg’s Corey Cantor and shows vehicles, some of them covered, lined up in four columns corresponding to the platforms on which the vehicles will sit.

The Gen 1 column shows Rivian’s electric lineup. R1S SUV and R1T pickup truckalong with the commercial vans the company originally developed for Amazon.

The Gen 2 column represents the updated platform that Rivian unveiled earlier this month in updated versions of the R1S and R1T launched in 2025. It is safe to assume that the mysterious vehicle in the Gen 2 column is an upgraded version of the commercial truck.

The third column is for the platform, which Rivian calls MSP, which stands for “Mid-sized Platform.” This is what the platform is for upcoming R2 cross And R3/R3X hatchbackand pictures of those cars are featured on the slide in the MSP column. There was also a covered vehicle, its identity remains unknown. A smaller pickup truck Based on this platform is one possibility, although it could also be a smaller commercial vehicle.

Perhaps the biggest surprise on the slide is what Rivian calls the Affordable mass market platform. There are three concealed vehicles associated with this platform, their identities are also unknown.

Considering Rivian has confirmed a starting price of $45,000 for the R2 crossover, the R3 series will probably cost less than that. With its Affordable Mass Market platform, Rivian may be planning to launch electric vehicles priced to compete with Tesla’s cheap electric car which Tesla CEO Elon Musk has hinted could cost as low as $25,000.

Rivian is expected to hold another investor presentation later today and may provide more information about the mystery cars during the event.
