Review of PowerWash Emulator (Switch eShop)

In 1998, The Simpsons perform a gag about Bart refusing to do house gardening for his mother, then asking her to let him join the line to simulate gardening at a local fairground. It’s funny because who’s going to develop a virtual experience of a chore? Furthermore, who would want to actually play it?

So anyhow, PowerWash Emulator is a game where you use a pressure washer to clean different items and locations. You have a wide range of nozzles, cleaning products and accessories with which you can streamline the process. It’s awesome and honestly, you have absolutely no right to have such fun, whether you’re going solo or joining friends online for a co-op session.

You’ll start with cleaning up a branded truck, and soon you’ll be tasked with cleaning up a garden that looks as if it’s been untouched for a while. decade. You’re going to throw all that dirt in the big mud bin in the sky and use the proceeds to buy bigger and better equipment to clean the fire station, the playground, the Perseverance Mars Rover, all the smart stuff. often.

The same satisfying game loop found on other systems is completely intact here, and performance (albeit halved to up to 30fps) is pleasantly stable. The ‘resolution’ of the dirt-cleaning process is a bit pixelated when you get up close, but that’s by no means ruining the fun. However, reload times were a different story, ranging from about 30 seconds to a moment when we waited more than two minutes as we moved from one partially completed location to another. Not ideal, but the job can take so long that you won’t see too many loading screens in your time.

Also available is the Tomb Raider-themed DLC, which is strangely absent from the base game, but is free to download from the eShop at the time of writing, with no indication that it will be paid for. With this bundle you get a ton of Tomb Raider-y goodies for remote cleaning, and while the base game doesn’t really offer a cleaning experience, it does have a lot more content to clean up and free. fee. Can’t really complain.

One thing is painful Missing, however, is the gyroscope target. I don’t think we can emphasize enough what a match made on the gyroscope of heaven would be like in a game like this, but it frustrates me doubly by the rigidity with which the device is set. standard dual analog setup. It’s not a problem-solving tool, and it’s still a great time to be here, but oh well, we had to wave our controller around and let it really do the work. something in the game.
