Report tax evasion car, reward 10% of the seized value – Ahmad Maslan
The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) offers a 10% reward of the value of the confiscated goods to anyone who provides accurate information about the case. customs duty and tax evasionincluding perpetrators.
According to the report of Bernama, Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the identity of the informant would be kept confidential. Goods on the watch list for customs duties and tax evasion include vehicletobacco and alcohol.
“If the value of the arrest is worth RM1 million, then 10% of that, or RM100,000, will be given to the informant. There is actually a provision for informants that we will rate by category,” said Ahmad Maslan.
“We hope that more people will contact JKDM if they see something suspicious, we treat these informants as Class A, which means that when JKDM arrives, they can immediately arrest the perpetrator and seize the goods. It also includes drug-related cases,” he added.
Ahmad Maslan further noted that the information provided is necessary to eradicate activities that harm the people and the country and that the reward has long been awarded by JKDM but has not been announced.
“There is still a lot of this evil being done out there, so I urge everyone to go ahead and spread the word by contacting JKDM in their respective regions… however, do not provide misinformation,” he said.
“I am confident in the persistent efforts of the state JKDM in improving the results, which can to some extent help the government’s efforts to revive the national economy and help more people,” he continued.
