News about Proton’s first electric vehicle has been pouring in over the past few months, culminating in the launch of an electric vehicle. dedicated eMas brand for new energy vehicles (NEV) earlier this month. We also know that the car itself will almost certainly take the form of a renamed car Galaxy Geely E5According to reports, it is currently being developed for the right-hand drive market.

Now, Photoshop expert Theophilus Chin has come up with an idea that he believes would make such a car look like it’s wearing a Proton badge. That’s the only change made to the car visually, much like Proton’s other Geely-based models like X70, X50, X90 And S70.

That means the unnamed C-segment SUV retains the Galaxy E5’s design, including sharp headlights, illuminated grille, L-shaped bumper angle, gloss black extended wheel arches. and scalloped sides. The tiger head circle at the front at least looks illuminated, which is a nice touch.

At the rear, the Galaxy E5’s full-width taillights (with the Galaxy sub-brand “dash” in the middle) and large rear diffuser have been enhanced by the “Proton” lettering on the tailgate and the eMas logo in the lower right. We should point out that Proton’s introduction to the final model featured a slightly different headlight design, with an indicator strip at the top and hexagonal daytime running lights.

Chin even took the effort to render the eMas’s interior, which essentially features the Galaxy E5’s minimalist dashboard, a 10.25-inch digital clock display, and a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen. 4 inches upside down, along with the Proton logo on the steering wheel airbag cover.

The image contains some neat Easter eggs, including “Kajang” in the weather forecast in the middle screen. The E5 will also be available with the Flyme Sound system with 16 speakers and a whopping 1,000 watts of power output, although it remains to be seen whether the Proton version will offer that.

Like the Galaxy E5, the first eMas model will be produced on Geely’s platform Global Smart New Energy Architecture (GEA). Technical details of the Galaxy E5 are yet to be revealed, but reports suggest it will be powered by a single motor that produces 218 PS (160 kW) to reach a top speed of 175 km /h, combined with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Expect these to be carried over to the eMas version.

This car will be followed by five new models built on Proton’s Global Modular Architecture (GMA). These will include petrol, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles, for domestic consumption and export, and are planned to help increase the company’s output by up to 200,000 units.
