Ranked 7 Best Texas Patriots Coaching Candidates To Replace Fired David Culley

The Texans fired coach David Culley on Thursday after just one season and a 4-13 record. If you used to work or still work for the Patriots, you could be his replacement in Houston.

Culley got stuck in a horrible mess of lesser talent while the Texan played an entire season with inactive full-back Deshaun Watson. His team played hard and had some moments of attack and defence, but that was not enough to save his job.

Now, the confidence of executive vice president Jack Easterby and Texan general manager Nick Caserio has led us to believe they know what they’re doing with a capable new hire. Since that pair used to work in New England, and because Houston is by far the least attractive of the NFL’s eight coaching positions for 2022 – in part because of Easterby and Caserio – there’s no doubt they have a plan. plan to bring the “Patriot Way” down the Texans way.

THAN: Why did the Texans fire David Culley?

So here’s a list of all the Patriots themed stars of Culley replacement candidates, minus Matt Patricia and Joe Judge of course.

Ranking of the Best Texans Coaching Picks for 2022

Bill Belichick, head coach, Patriots (age: 69)

This may seem outrageous at first glance, but so are Texans in general. But don’t overlook Easterby and Caserio letting Belichick put their best foot forward to leave the Patriots. They can also shoot for the moon. But it might take a ridiculous $25 million-a-season contract, an offer of absolute power, a mansion and a boat to get him halfway through his retirement in Mexico. Hopefully Belichick will respond by putting on his hood and shrugging.

(Beautiful pictures)

Brian Flores, former Dolphins head coach and former Patriots defensive coordinator (age: 40)

Now let’s do it. Will Flores’ Miami layoff cause Houston’s trading department to fire Culley when it learns that the former is unexpectedly present? Remember, he’s reportedly the one who wants Dolphins for Watson the most. Related, does this mean the Texans are trying to hold Watson back, assuming he gets sent off the field? Many questions arise for cooperation with this organization. But yes, Flores is the real front-runner.

THAN: Ranking of NFL Open slots

Josh McDaniels, Patriots strike coordinator (age: 45)

It’s easy to picture McDaniels following Culley and Bill O’Brien, who served as Patriots offensive coordinators. Texans were able to blow away the concept of the old boys network and create their own network of young brothers consisting of Easterby, Caserio, and McDaniels. In all seriousness, McDaniels is long overdue for a second shot and he can at least help turn the offense around for the guys he knows well.

Jerod Mayo, Patriots goalkeeping coach (age: 35)

This is going to be an interesting hire because Mayo is developing more buzz as the next candidate like Flores, not Matt Patricia.

Steve Belichick, Patriots outfield coach (age: 34)

Belichick’s son, this really could happen. Bill’s other son Brian trains the Patriots hunts, but there’s a pretty good feeling that Steve is the one who doesn’t sneak in the teeing position vacated by Patricia and Flores.

Cameron Achord, Patriots special team coach (age: 34)

He’s replaced Judge, who left for the Giants before being fired and has had a successful run for the past two years. He quickly gained a lot of attention outside of New England.

Kevin O’Connell, Rams offensive coordinator and former Patriots defender (age: 36)

See what we did there? Caserio was working for the Patriots when they caught O’Connell in the third round of the 2008 draft. He’s getting a lot of buzz as the latest young offensive shot from the Sean McVay tree.
