Queen’s Reclining Enters First Day As Overnight Rehearsals For The Late King’s Funeral | UK News

The Queen’s lying state has entered its first day, with mourners defying long lines for the chance to be carried over the coffin of the late king.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to walk through the quaint lobby of the Palace of Westminster behind the door Open to the public at 5pm on Wednesdays.

Meanwhile, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has postponed a celebratory event she was due to attend as a lady of honor, as well as the release of her podcast, because of the Respect for the Queen.

Meghan was chosen along with other famous women, including Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Malala, in the framework of Variety’s US Women’s Power event.

The honorees will appear on the cover of the special edition of Women’s Power, with an event taking place on Wednesday, September 28.

“Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has been selected as one of this year’s outstanding honorees,” Variety said.
