MotoGP Sepang First Test Day

At Sepang on Friday Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, Team Team Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo returned to their YZR-M1 for the first time in 2023 for the official IRTA MotoGP test in Malaysia.

Eager to get back on board his YZR-M1 from the winter break, Quartararo gets to work right away to kick off his 2023 campaign. He spent the morning getting back into the running of things trying out different tire options. He continued to cross out items on his show into the afternoon, evaluating new updates. He ran 58 laps during 8 hours of high temperature testing and set his best lap at 1’59,422 seconds to take 11th place, 0.952 seconds away from the leader.

Franco Morbidelli made the most of the dry conditions. He used the morning practice session to get back into a steady rhythm after three months out of MotoGP. He successfully completed his First Day test plan in the afternoon and put in extra effort in the last hour. He ran a total of 59 laps, taking 10th place with a time of 1’59.118 seconds, 0.648 seconds ahead of the first.
