Purebred Aftercare Alliance Attends Gulfstream

LEXINGTON, KY — Alliance for Thoroughbred Care will be here again this year at Gulfstream Park on Florida Derby Day. Held on April 1, the Florida Curlin Derby (G1) is billed as “the biggest race day of the year in South Florida” as the race prepares for the Kentucky Derby (G1). Purebred Aftercare Alliance has partnered with 1/ST RACING for a variety of on-site activations during the day.

The Thoroughbred Care Alliance will be recognized with a race named on the tag under Florida Derby Day. After the race, a giveaway will be given to the winners including a branded blanket and swag bag. The Thoroughbred Care Coalition will also present the Best Horse Awards sponsored by 1/ST RACING and Gulfstream Parks for all races of the day. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for jockey players to pledge their jocks mount fees to the Thoroughbred Care Alliance. 1/ST RACING will raise awareness of accredited aftercare throughout the day.

Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance representatives will be at Florida Horse Racing Day as VIP instructors for one of the VIP experiences that went up for auction earlier this year as part of the “Get Out” campaign race” to raise awareness of aftermarket care. This exciting VIP experience was generously donated by 1/ST RACING.

“1/ST RACING and Gulfstream Park are proud to have supported the Thoroughbred Care Alliance since 2014,” said Nicole Walker, vice president, Stronach Group and TAA Committee Member. “The mission of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is of paramount importance to the industry, and we’re excited to highlight aftercare awareness on such an important race day at Gulfstream Park.”

It was also announced that the Thoroughbred Aftercare Coalition will be a co-beneficiary of the Florida Derby Charity Golf Tournament along with the Jockeys Permanent Disability Foundation. The charity golf tournament organized by 1/ST RACING will be held on March 27 at Pembroke Lakes Golf & Country Club. Teams in the top three will receive gift bags from the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
