Pet owners often go to great lengths to ensure their pets are happy and safe. They buy the best food, the softest beds, invest in training and build safe homes for their pets. They are willing to do anything for their furry friends.
However, not all pets appreciate these efforts. Staying safe from traffic or wildlife by staying indoors doesn’t always appeal to them. This is especially true for dogs who deeply value their freedom. In their perfect world, there would be no fence to hold them back. They like to roam freely everywhere, chase birds and explore every corner without encountering any barriers.
A YouTuber, known as rgraves62002, faced this challenge with his dog Stella. Stella is no ordinary dog. She is a rescue dog found in the trash and she has a boundless spirit. Her enthusiasm for running, jumping and playing made it clear to her owner that a fence was needed to keep her safe at home.
To make sure the fence worked well, he first needed to find out how high Stella could jump. After experimenting with a baby gate and adding an extra 6 inches for safety, he bought and installed the fence and felt quite proud of his work.
Eager to share his success, he decided to film his new fence to post on social media.
“I actually just put up this fence to keep Stella in the yard and am absolutely admiring it,” he mentioned in his video without knowing what was about to happen next.
When recording, he proudly declared: “Yeah, just finished fixing this fence. I must say I’m quite proud of that. Tried to keep Stella in the yard,” not realizing how the word “trying” would soon take on a new meaning.
The video then shows Stella rushing towards the fence with clear aim. Without hesitation, she walked straight to the corner of the fence where the ground was a little higher, and with a graceful jump, she crossed the fence that her master had carefully constructed.
Her master could only utter a word of resignation “Dangit” as he watched his efforts go to waste. Despite the initial disappointment, the incident turned out to be a funny story and taught a valuable lesson about the unpredictability of pets.
Stella’s daring escape is a reminder that no matter how prepared we are, our pets may have other ideas. This story not only shows that pet owners will go to great lengths to protect their pets, but also celebrates the brave nature of our animal friends who, despite their efforts, our best, sometimes still choosing our own adventures.
