Proton eMas 7 will be on display at ACE 2024 – the first EV SUV interior show, open to the public from October 26-27
We’ve already seen the upcoming Proton eMas 7 (stylized as e.MAS 7) – the automaker’s first electric vehicle – wrapped in camouflage and even has tested its twin the Geely Galaxy E5So what is the next milestone in the pre-launch campaign of this electric SUV model? 10 points for whoever answers ‘furniture’.
The cabin of the Proton eMas 7 will be revealed at the event paultan.org Automobile Expo (ACE) 2024 show will take place on the weekend of October 26-27 at Setia City Convention Center (SCCC). The Showcar will be a pre-production unit and it will still have exterior stickers for camouflage, but people will be able to touch, feel and try the eMas 7 on for size.
The Proton eMas 7, the right-hand drive version of the Geely Galaxy E5, is not a 100% rebranding job. Proton says it has done a lot local testing and even requested and implemented 49 additional testing procedures – some of which are exclusive to Proton – to ensure the eMas 7 meets both local and global standards. These include tests of the SUV’s load performance and stability control.
The eMas 7 also has a maximum water wading capacity of 400 mm to offer Additional protection against flooding – this is higher than Geely. The depth test was simulated at Proton’s test site in July, where the company also conducted a speed bump test to simulate real-life Malaysian road conditions. Apparently, an issue was found during testing and has been fixed.

The Proton eMas 7 is expected to be launched later this year and is expected to offer the same powertrain as the Galaxy E5. Geely is equipped with a single front engine that produces 218 horsepower (160 kW) and 320 Nm of torque, helping the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. There are also two battery options – 49.52 kWh with a CLTC range of 440 km and 60.22 kWh with a range of up to 530 km on a single charge.
