Probably the Funniest Educational Photography Video You’ll Watch This Year

If you’re not getting the absolute joy out of photography, you’re doing it all wrong. Rob Cottle and Geraint Radford show you how to photograph nature.

There’s no better place than you can lie in goose droppings, on your belly, pointing your camera at the creature!

Photographing creatures large and small on a bright and windy day is no easy feat. This excellent and really fun video teaches you how to make the most of a situation. Two Welsh photographers made a date to visit a pond located in the grounds of a large house and get beautiful pictures.

I had the pleasure of meeting both Rob and Geraint, and I also interviewed Rob for Fstoppers some time ago, and I’ve been planning to interview Geraint for a while; see this space. Both are famous photographers in the UK. If you’ve watched their short videos on Instagram, you know they’re an absolute entertainer, and they’re just as good in real life as they are on screen. They are also talented photographers who are passionate about sharing their camera techniques. Rob is a wildlife photographer and Geraint is a macro photographer. They are also good friends and as such, their refreshing humor conveyed with a great Welsh accent makes their educational videos much more enjoyable than most others.

Rob and Geraint just started their YouTube channel and posted their first video. In this first episode, they visit a pond in less than ideal photographic conditions. But they managed to take some excellent photos and videos anyway. Throughout the video, they give some great advice on how to get compelling wildlife shots, especially where to position yourself and the camera for the best shots in relation to the wildlife. the creature they are photographing.

Although they briefly mention the exposure settings and kits they use, as OM System Ambassadors they both use OM System OM-1and Rob’s lens is a Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25X IS PROThis video is more about technique than equipment.

Well worth a look, this video will help take your wildlife and macro photography to the next level.
