Pressure model threatens Europe with a hellish winter – Is it emerging for it?

First the good news (and then the bad news below)

This year’s hurricane season is unusually quiet. The US has so far easily outdone itself in terms of landings and damage, thus again contradicting all of the apocalyptic scenarios from climate alerters.

Mid-September is usually the peak of hurricane activity. But it’s quiet for now and poses no threat to the US mainland – for the time being. This is the latest update from National Hurricane Center (NHC):

Another sailed. Image is cut from NHC.

Currently, only Hurricane Fiona is active in the Atlantic, and it is forecast to head out to sea hundreds of miles off the east coast and break up. It was a quiet season.

According to Eric Berger at arstechnica.com here:

Everybody from US agency devoted to the study of the weather, oceans and atmosphere — National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — most highly regarded storm experts predict a season with above-normal to above-normal activity.

For example, NOAA’s outlook for the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30, predicts a 65% chance of an above-normal season…”

Even with today’s super powerful computers and complex models, accurate seasonal predictions are proving elusive. This will tell us that climate models looking decades into the future are nothing more than wild, high-tech conjectures.

Arstechnica.com here Summary of seasonal storm forecast status:

Seasonal forecasting is still a growing science. While that’s often more true than false, predicting specific weather patterns like hurricanes months in advance is far from an established science. “

Now the bad news: 2022 hurricane season ‘couldn’t end with a long shot’

Regarding the rest of the 2022 season, veteran meteorologist Joes Bastardi said yesterday Saturday Summary The video shows there are signs that things will start to cook in the next 15 days: “It’s a late start season. It doesn’t end with a long shot.”

Potentially killer winter on top of acute energy crisis

On another topic, some forecasters have forecast a milder-than-usual winter for Europe, which will see a welcome red carpet due to the continent’s dire energy crisis.

However, Joe notes there are signs this may not be the case. That means the coming winter could become – given the dire energy situation today – the Mother of Nightmares: a bitter cold winter with power outages. In the event of a blackout that many experts warn is highly likely, Europe will face an economic and humanitarian crisis on a scale not seen in a very long time.

“Let’s see what the surface map is showing,” says Bastardi. “When you have High pressure over Greenland and Iceland, and low pressure against Spain like, guys, it’s an ugly situation for the winter. That is similar to 2010/11”.

Normally, a tough winter would be no problem for Europe in normal times, but this is a far cry from normal when Green New Deal politicians have done a great job in this regard. destroying the continent’s energy supply and thereby leaving tens of millions of people extremely vulnerable.

Europeans need to start preparing for the fall and/or winter blackouts. Note that a blackout not only means a loss of power, but also heat, lights, communications, the Internet, and possibly water supplies – for days! Don’t wait and pretend it can’t happen. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
