With just a few days to go until the epic trilogy battle between Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin, the boxing world’s eyes are on the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. You can watch all the action from the press conference here at Boxing Social.
With the fight week going well, just from the atmosphere one can tell that there is an unresolved relationship between two of the most iconic fighters of this generation.
Their first meeting was an encounter fraught with controversy. When the bell ends 12order round, many observers felt that announcing ‘Triple G’ as the winner was a mere formality. However, the boxing world gasped when Michael Buffer claimed the three Vegas umpires ultimately gave the match a draw – with Adelaide Byrd’s 10-2 scorecard in favor of Canelo in particular.
The second fight was a much closer affair, with fans and pundits split in between to see who deserved to win. Canelo was awarded the nod that night, and an induction pad was lit under the command of Gennadiy Golovkin, who since that day has called the third dance with the Mexicans.
With the Kazakh wish now issued and the trio now for us, there is a feeling among many in the sport that Canelo – backed by his father’s time – is sure to turn out well. more of GGG is now 40 years old at T Mobile on Saturday night.
However, with the real hatred nurtured by Golovkin as he tries to right what he sees as the mistake of years gone by, count him at your peril.
