Predicting the 2025 NASCAR lineup | FOX Sports

As the season gets into full swing, here’s a look at each team’s 2025 roster.

As negotiations progress, these forecasts/outlooks will change and we will update you.

Here is my view as of July 3rd following the announcement that Josh Berry will be joining Wood Brothers Racing next season.

Joe Gibbs Racing

11:Denny Hamlin is under contract through at least next year and no changes are expected.

19: Chase Briscoe will replace Martin Truex Jr. next year, the team announced Tuesday. Crew chief James Small will remain with the team.

20: Christopher Bell has signed a contract until at least next year and no changes are expected

54: Ty Gibbs is the nephew of the team owner and is expected to have a ride as long as the team has Joe Gibbs on board. Whether he will ever switch to No. 18 — his original JGR signature and number — will probably be the biggest question. Joe Gibbs said there is nothing imminent about a number change.

Hendrick Sports Car

5:Kyle Larson is under contract until at least next year and no changes are expected.

9:Chase Elliott is under contract until at least next year and no changes are expected.

24:William Byron has signed a contract until at least next year and no changes are expected.

48: Alex Bowman has signed until at least next year. While this is the most talked about seat that could open up at Hendrick, his recent performances should be enough to keep him there. However, a real win would help quiet the speculation.

Denny Hamlin on Corey Heim’s expectations for driving the No. 50 23XI Racing car this week

Racing 23XI

23:Bubba Wallace has not yet signed a contract for next year but is expected to return.

45:Tyler Reddick is under contract through at least next year and no changes are expected.

sixty seven (or some other third car that can be rented from SHR):With the team already having a relationship with Monster Energy, adding Riley Herbst and his Monster deal would make sense. Corey Heim is the team’s future driver, but he could be a year or two away from being Cup ready.

Team Penske

2:Austin Cindric has not yet signed a contract for next year but his win earlier this year and run to the playoffs could keep him in the race, especially with no “must have” driver available to take over.

twelfth:Ryan Blaney has signed a contract until at least next year and no changes are expected.

22:Joey Logano is under contract until at least next year and no changes are expected.

RFK Racing

6:Brad Keselowski is a co-owner and is expected to return to the car next year.

17:Chris Buescher is under contract until at least next year and no changes are expected.

Trackhouse Racing

first: Ross Chastain has signed a contract until at least next year and no changes are expected.

99:Daniel Suarez is in his contract year and said he was pleased to have signed, which was entirely to be expected.

TBA (likely license acquired from SHR): Trackhouse has two drivers under contract and a car. They still have to decide whether Shane van Gisbergen feels better about another season in Xfinity. That would leave Zane Smith in that car, but the more likely scenario is that van Gisbergen is in a Cup car and Smith either looks for a ride while still under contract or is loaned out to another team like he did this year with Spire.

Richard Childress Race

3: Austin Dillon is signed through at least next year. While there are rumors that he might step down (like his grandfather Richard Childress did with Dale Earnhardt decades ago), the chances of him returning to the car next season are much higher.

8:Kyle Busch is under contract through at least next year and no changes are expected.

33: The team has flirted with adding a third full-time car for next year, but that seems less likely than it did a month ago with the news that Gene Haas is keeping one of his rental cars. If they can get a rental car, Noah Gragson could be a possibility with his Bass Pro ties, which are already strong at RCR with the No. 3 car. Austin Hill could also be a possibility, but he seems content to run in Xfinity next season.

Haas Factory Team

Will be announced later: Gene Haas will retain a Stewart-Haas Racing charter and operate it as the Haas Factory Team. Haas wants to have a presence, as a sponsor and/or car owner for his various Haas brands. Considering he has continued to sponsor the former Cup driver and reigning Xfinity champion Cole Custer — and Custer’s father runs the Haas Factory Team — so it makes sense that Custer would be the top candidate.

Top Motorsports

34: While a month ago this looked like Cole Custer was on the SHR lease deal, that now seems unlikely (see Haas Factory Team note above). FRM will likely need drivers with some sponsorship. Noah Gragson, Xfinity racer Sam Mayer and truck driver Christian Eckes are the favorites. Gragson is the favorite to win one of the open FRM rides. Whether Zane Smith could return to the team where he won the truck championship is not the most likely scenario, but it is not impossible.

36 (charter acquired from SHR): The candidate list is the same as 34.

38:Todd Gilliland has signed a contract until at least next season and no changes are expected.

Spire Motorsports

7:Corey LaJoie is signed through at least next season and while he didn’t have the best year, he should be back next year.

71: Michael McDowell (currently driving for Front Row Motorsports) has signed with Spire until at least next season and joins the team to replace Zane Smith.

77: Carson Hocevar is under contract through at least next season. His performance this year has been strong enough to warrant interest from other teams, but he is expected to remain with Spire through 2025.

Legacy Car Club

42:John Hunter Nemechek has signed a contract until at least next season and no changes are expected.

43: Erik Jones is still unsigned for next season. The team will most likely want him back but at least he will listen to other offers. If he leaves, Heim would be a possibility in this car.

JTG Daugherty Racing

47:Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is under contract through at least next season and no changes are expected.

Rick Ware Racing

15:With multiple riders (Kaz Grala is the main rider), if one rider comes in with sponsorship, this ride could be feasible. Preece has experience riding for RWR, having raced two races with the team in 2022.

51: Justin Haley has signed a contract through at least next year. His performance has prompted other teams to talk to him, but for now at least, he says he’ll be staying with Rick Ware Racing, the team that has shown the most faith in him over the past few years.

Kaulig Racing

16: For many drivers, this ride will be for a driver who can bring in enough sponsorship to anchor the car. Never rule out a return to Cup for AJ Allmendinger if Kaulig can find the money. The organization and Eckes have flirted with each other before, so there’s likely to be at least some talk if he continues to run well in the truck.

thirty first: Daniel Hemric is not signed for next season. This trip will likely depend on sponsorship.

Wood Brothers Racing

21: Josh Berry has been announced to be driving this car in 2025 as the SHR driver will replace Harrison Burton. Burton has a number of sponsors he could bring with him but his 2025 destination is still unclear with a possible return to trucks or Xfinity.
