Prairie Meadows releases 2023 stake schedule

Prairie Meadows’ 2023 live race season will begin May 12 and end September 30. The final race day of the season will be the Iowa Classic event with an all-Iowa hybrid racing tag. A total of 80 race days will be scheduled with both Thoroughbred and Precious Horse racing. The season begins with 20 Thoroughbred-only racing days from May 12 to June 17 and continues with a mixed schedule of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horses for 60 race days from June 18 to September 30.

Live racing will be offered on a Friday through Monday schedule with the exception of the inaugural race week which will have only races on May 12-13. Standard posting times for Friday and Saturday shows will be 6 p.m., while posting times for Sunday and Monday shows will begin at 4 p.m. As of Release Date For this contact, the only posting time exception is September 30, with the special posting time of 4 p.m. for the Iowa Classic.
