Porsche Centers in Malaysia upgraded to High Efficiency Charger DC 350 kW; Solar bus station in Penang
Porsche Malaysia, through Sime Darby Auto Performance, has upgraded the capacity of high-performance charging (HPC) units at Porsche Centers across Malaysia, allowing up to 350 kW of power from dual output chargers be upgraded.
350 kW power is accumulated from a pair of DC chargers rated at 175 kW each, charging at full speed can yield 5-80% recharge for one Porsche Taycan in less than 23 minutes, according to Porsche Malaysia.
This number is consistent with the statistics of Taycan cars takes up to 270 kW DC, allowing an accurate charge of 5-80% in 22.5 minutes or an additional 100 km of battery range in less than five minutes. In addition to using both chargers for maximum charging speed, two charging points per charger allow to recharge two Porsche Taycan components at up to 175 kW each.
The upgraded 350 kW DC charger is now available at Porsche Ara Damansara Center and Porsche Center Penang, and upgraded chargers will be available at Porsche Sungai Besi Center and Porsche Center Johor Bahru from next month, June next year. 2023. These upgraded DC chargers will be available exclusively to owners of the Porsche Taycan.
In addition to the upgraded DC chargers, a new solar panel car gate has been installed at Porsche Center Penang to collect solar energy with a canopy covering the outdoor car park.
Here, the canopy consists of 151 panels capable of generating power up to 81.51 kWp, allowing for energy savings of up to 30%, supporting the company’s ambition to reduce carbon emissions, as well as as for Porsche’s upcoming electrified models.
These exclusive charging facilities for Taycan owners in Malaysia are complemented by a 180 kW . high efficiency charger network nationwide through a partnership between Shell and Porsche, with a total of six locations within Shell stations.
