Back in May, we reported that dump truck across Colorado highways, congesting traffic and ruining so many people’s days. At the time, it felt like it could be as bad as it will be when this year’s poop spill occurs. But no, we won’t get away with that easily. Connecticut decided to deal with a truck that dumped so much sewage on the highway that it caused many accidents.
Related press report that a tractor truck in Connecticut dumped “human waste” onto Interstate 95. “Human waste” was enough to cause cars behind the truck to start swerving and crashing into each other. . A motorcyclist was involved in a collision and suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. In addition, another tractor-trailer lost control and crashed into a police vehicle, which then collided with a second police vehicle. But both cars were empty because officers were outside the wreckage, trying to help other wrecks. In total, police said 10 vehicles crashed due to dumping of feces.
Having your car covered in sewage is one thing. But having your car covered in so much sewage that you lose control and crash is a whole other level. That means at some point, you have to get out of your broken-down car and walk through the dunghill to safety. That is horrible.
Witnesses provided police with the name of the company that owned the dump truck to help them track down the driver. Police say they believe he was aware of the leak but did not stop driving. They charged him with “reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and does not guarantee the safety of the load.”
