The Chaplaincy of the New York Circuit announced today that it will honor Tracy and Todd Pletcher for their generous and continued support of the New York community of hunched runners at a weekly fundraiser. The 16th year is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, NY.
“Pletcher has demonstrated a deep commitment to the backstretch community and their support has come in many forms over the years,” said Ramón Dominguez, chairman of the board of directors of NY Chaplaincy. “We are delighted to honor them in this way for all that they have done and all that they continue to do.”
“This honor means the world to Tracy and to me,” Todd Pletcher said. “Our track record is a reflection of the team’s efforts, and the members of the backseat are key members of our team. The New York Chaplain has done a great job serving the groomers. and we are honored to join their list of honorees.”
Past honorees of the NY Chaplaincy include Anne Campbell, Edgar Prado, Michael Dubb, Fay and David Donk, Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson, Letty and Kiaran McLaughlin, Lisa and Kenny Troutt, Debbie and Terry Finley, Cavalry Society New York thoroughbred artist, Irad Ortiz Jr. and, last year, Andy Serling.
The honoree is each year presented with a print of equestrian artist Tom Chapman at the brunch, which last year attracted nearly 300 Chaplaincy supporters at NY Raceway.
A longtime leader among coaches nationally, Todd Pletcher has won seven Eclipse Awards as the nation’s top coach, and he has been inducted into the Bao’s Hall of Fame. National Racing Museum in 2021. According to Equibase, as of January 16, 2023, Pletcher has won more than 5,400 races and his horses have made more than $450,000,000 in wallets in for the past 26 years.
NY Race Track Chaplaincy serves the NY farmers and ranch communities of Belmont Park, Aqueduct Racetrack and Saratoga Race Course with enrichment programs for children, youth and women, social services, recreational programs education and training as well as non-denominational religious services.
