Katie and Leo have become great friends over the years, so Katie was heartbroken to learn Tina had passed away. This left Leo alone to mourn, as Canon – Tina’s son – is currently serving in the Marines. Given the situation, Katie couldn’t help but worry about how Leo was keeping his emotions in check.

When Katie spots Leo in her car and he won’t let her leave, she decides to take him in until Canon returns from his shift. In his new home, Leo gets along well with other dogs because of his easy-going personality. He quickly becomes a part of their lives that they can’t imagine living without.
