Pit Bulls are often considered aggressive dogs. However, this Pit Bull dog has a heroic heart, risking his life to save a little girl’s life.

A woman posted a Facebook post about her brother’s Pit Bull went viral. She writes:
“My brother was walking his pit bull lab mix, Hurley, in our neighborhood’s field at about 10pm. He takes him this late so he can drop his leash so he can do what he loves to do, explore all the different smells. He heard a child scream and before my brother knew it, Hurley ran after the scream.

With my brother in the background, he saw Hurley grab a bronze-headed snake from the boy and throw it around, only to discover that he had killed it. The boy ran to his mother’s car and sped so fast that my brother couldn’t find any information about him. (We assume that because they left so quickly, he was bitten and taken to the emergency room.)
After that, my brother continued to call the animal control agency and the Central Highlands Village Police were there to check the scene. They asked to see Hurley to see if he had been bitten. To my brother’s surprise, he was bleeding, his neck was swollen, and he was foaming at the mouth. Sure enough, they found two wounds on his upper lip.

Shelby rushed Hurley to Denton Animal Emergency Hospital, where he stayed overnight so they could test his blood clotting several times during the night. Shelby and Hurley both went home this morning. Thank God Hurley is much better this morning, just looking a little annoyed with a swollen face and neck.
It was later discovered that the boy had come across a bronze nest and hoped that Hurley had prevented the boy from being bitten, or at least bitten multiple times. We’re still trying to figure out who he is and make sure he’s okay.”
This is our pit bull hero. I want his story to appeal to those who judge his breed.
