The Pit Bull is often considered an aggressive breed. However, this Pit Bull is a hero with heart, risking his life to save a little girl’s life.

A woman posted a Facebook post About her brother’s Pit Bull went viral. She writes:

My brother was doing a mixed walk in his pit bull lab, Hurley, in our neighbor’s field around 10pm. He takes me this late so he can loosen the leash so I can do what I like, explore all the different smells. He heard a kid screaming and before my brother knew it, Hurley was gone after the screams.

With my brother close behind, he saw Hurley take a copperhead snake out of the boy and throw it around, later discovering he had killed it. The boy ran to his mother and sped so fast that my brother couldn’t find out anything about him. (We’re assuming because they left so quickly that he was bitten and taken to the emergency room.)

My brother then continued to call animal control and the Central Highlands Village Police arrived to inspect the scene. They asked to examine Hurley to see if he had been bitten. To my brother’s surprise, he was bleeding, his neck was swollen, and he was foaming at the mouth. Sure enough, they found two puncture wounds on his upper lip.

Shelby took Hurley to Denton Animal Emergency Hospital, where he stayed the night so they could test his blood clotting several times throughout the night. Shelby and Hurley both went home this morning. Thank God Hurley was much better this morning, just looking a little annoyed with her swollen face and neck.

It was later discovered that the boy had passed through a bronze nest and it was hoped that Hurley had prevented the boy from being bitten, or at least bitten multiple times. We’re still trying to figure out who he is and make sure he’s okay.”

This is our hero pit bull. I want his story to be popular with those who judge his breed.
