Game Pandasaurus announced that they will be releasing a card game based on Persona 5 Royal. The title of the card game will resemble the real thing. Persona 5 Royal will launch on October 21, 2023. So far, the only thing we know about the gameplay is that it will be a “cooperative card-based strategy game” and you’ll be able to play as is Phantom Thieves.
Emerson Matsuuchi is the designer of Persona 5 Royal (Pandasaurus). He previously worked on Century: Wonders of the East and Rome’s base board game. As for Pandasaurus Games, it specializes in card and board games like Dinosaur Island and That time you killed me. Persona 5 Royal was the first video game that Pandasaurus collaborated with.
Like Persona 5 Royal (Pandasaurus) specific use Royal, it is likely that new characters such as Yoshizawa and Maruki will appear in some form. It can also use new game elements like Showtime. Pandasaurus Games has stated that it will feature a Palace and a Velvet Room, although it’s unclear how they will work in the card game format. However Persona 5 Royal (Atlus) originally launched in 2019, it still appears in collaboration with other games. For example, Reincarnation NieR and Alchemy Star both have Persona 5 character appeared earlier this year.
