Perodua Myvi 2018 available for purchase in Japan through a used car dealer – two are priced at fr RM53k
Although the third-generation Perodua Myvi has never been officially sold in Japan, used car dealers in the country are bringing in the hatchbacks, with two examples available for purchase via sensor.
Both are Advance variants, which was one of four options available to Malaysians when the Myvi G3 launched. was first introduced back in November 2017. As a result, they are equipped with a 2NR-VE 1.5 liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 102 hp and 136 Nm of torque. The Dual VVT-i factory is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.
The Sparkling silver unit has a surprisingly low mileage of 14,200 km and costs 1.6 million yen (RM53,085), including bodywork and other fees. Meanwhile, the Example Lava Red costs more at 1.7 million yen (RM56,408) and the range is even more surprising at just 6,222 km. For reference, the Advance when it was first launched in Malaysia was priced at RM55,300 on the road.
The two Myvi devices available for purchase are 2018 model year devices and are mostly stock, save for an aftermarket head unit on the console that includes a TV tuner and satellite navigation. There is also a card reader for the Japanese electronic toll collection (ETC) system located in the drawer below the air conditioning control.
It would certainly be interesting to see a Malaysian car imported into Japan, much less than two. It should be noted that the Myvi G3 has appeared in Japan before when one was displayed at Daihatsu Motor’s headquarters in Osaka a few years ago.
