Pagani Huayra Epitome has a twin-turbo V12 engine and a manual transmission

All supercar And supercar The manufacturer runs an internal customization program, but Pagani expanded the range of personalization options more widely than most. At the request of customers, it built a Huayra equipped with a seven-speed manual transmission.

The car is called the Huayra Epitome, and it was developed by Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division. The name of the customer has not been revealed, but it appears that he or she played a key role in the creation of this one-off car by sharing the idea with Pagani founder Horacio Pagani. The planning part of the process took nine months; building the one-off Huayra with a manual transmission took another 10 months.

“This is a long and complex process because developing components specifically for a single car requires the same amount of time as for series-production cars,” Lorenzo Kerkoc, head of Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division, said in a statement. Pagani notes that the gearbox is a transversely mounted unit built by Xtrac, a company that makes racing gearboxes. It receives power from the engine via a three-plate clutch.

Speaking of the engine, it’s a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 built by Mercedes-AMG for Pagani. It makes 864 horsepower and 809 pound-feet of torque, and it blows out through a six-way titanium exhaust system. Power is sent to the wheels through an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and tripod jointPagani also equipped the Epitome with a new active suspension system with a “Super Soft” mode.

Visually, the Epitome gets redesigned bumpers at both ends, new headlights, and air intakes integrated into the front wheel arches. These changes aren’t all cosmetic: Pagani added a splitter to the front bumper at the customer’s request to increase downforce. The prominent rear wing is also functional, and the front air intakes have been redesigned to improve cooling. Inside, the highlight is undoubtedly the gated seven-speed gearshift lever, which is set up like a museum piece.

Time will tell what the future holds for the one-off manual Huayra. It may sit in a heated garage and not debut until the 2070 model year. Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, or you might spot it at the next car and coffee show. What’s for sure is you’ll know it when you see it.
