Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 273 – Portimão MotoGP Preview


Episode 273 of Paddock Pass Podcast is out and this shows we are previewing the Portuguese GP in Portimão.

On the mic, we have David Emmett, Neil Morrisonand Adam Wheeleras the trio discussed the first round of MotoGP on continental Europe.

The crew is joined by veteran MotoGP journalist Dennis Noyes, who not only adds his thoughts and views on the current Grand Prix racing scene, but also shares some interesting insights and stories about the early days of MotoGP racing.

For Spanish speakers, you can listen or watch podcast that Dennis does after every MotoGP grand prix, called Cinta Americana (Spanish for duct tape), with Spanish journalists Judit Florensa and Cristian Ramón Marín.

Dennis has led a colorful and engaging life, from trail racing on four wheels in the Midwest to teaching English in Central America to staring out the window of his English class in New York. Barcelona and see the “Grand prix traffic lights”, and find out that motorbikes are actually pretty cool.

From there, Dennis takes us on a journey through the history of grand prix motorcycle racing. How huge it was even before Angel Nieto, but Nieto took it to another level.

How Spain’s King Juan Carlos played a role in driving racing, the early days of Dorna, and how Bernie Ecclestone and Carmelo Ezpeleta faced off over who would run MotoGP, and why Ecclestone considers Ezpeleta is a worthy opponent.

As usual, the show ended with predictions for the weekend, with some interesting picks picked for the Portimão podium.
