Opening of the world’s tallest infinity pool in Dubai

(CNN) – Dubai has turned breaking world records into something of an art form over the years and now the emirate has another emirate to add to its list.

The world’s first and tallest 360-degree infinity pool just opened at Palm Tower, a hotel and residential building by developer Nakheel offering stunning views of the Dubai skyline.

Set at an altitude of 200 meters, Aura Skypool includes a 750-square-foot pool deck on the 50th floor of the new landmark, which is also home to St. Regis Dubai, located in Palm Jumeirah.

Described as “an island in the sky,” the space also features a lounge filled with VIP sunbeds, as well as a cocktail and tapas bar.

Those looking to take a dip in the green-tiled pool can choose to book a morning or sunset pass, while day passes are available for visitors with more time.

Entrance fees start at $46 (170 AED) for morning tours and go up to $163 (600 AED) for a full-day “island” VIP experience with access to the entire Aura area.

“Aura is truly unlike any other destination in the UAE and the world,” Antonio Gonzalez, CEO of Sunset Hospitality, the company behind the infinity pool, said in a statement last month.

The launch of Aura Skypool comes a few months after The View at The Palms, a 240-meter-tall observatory, opened on the 52nd floor of the spectacular tower, which also houses the Middle East’s first SushiSamba restaurant. .

While, world’s tallest infinity pooLocated inside a building, the 293,906 meter high bathing spot on the 77th floor of the Address Beach Resort in Dubai’s Jumeirah Gate, was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records earlier this year.

Unlike Aura Skypool, the pool is only open to hotel guests, aged 21 and over. However, diners who book a table at the Zeta Seventy Seven rooftop restaurant, located directly across from the pool, can also enjoy the view as well as a clear view of the record-breaking pool.
